Frequently Asked Questions - Executive Protection & Bodyguards in Nigeria
Learn moreCan I hire an armed bodyguard in Nigeria? This is one of the most frequent questions we receive. The short answer is: no, you cannot legally hire an armed bodyguard in Nigeria for private protection. Only certain agents working in armored transport or under exceptional government licenses may carry firearms. Our agents are trained to operate effectively using planning, communication, de-escalation, and strategic placement — not weapons. What’s the difference between a bodyguard and an executive protection agent?A bodyguard is often seen as a reactive figure offering close physical presence. An executive protection agent focuses on prevention: advance work, route planning, threat analysis, PR coordination, and logistics. True VIP protection is strategic — not just physical. Are your agents certified and licensed?Yes. All our agents are provincially licensed (e.g., BSP in Quebec, Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General) and compliant with national regulations. We also train to international standards via NABA, ASIS, and BEPP.Are your agents trained in CPR and emergency response?Absolutely. All active agents are CPR certified and trained in basic first aid, evacuation, and medical readiness. We consider medical response a mandatory skill in executive protection.Do your security drivers receive special training?Yes. Our chauffeurs are trained in both defensive and evasive driving techniques. They are taught how to operate safely during emergencies, high-pressure movements, and secure pick-up/drop-off scenarios (especially at FBOs or crowded areas). What is OSINT and HUMINT in protection?OSINT stands for Open Source Intelligence — monitoring online data, public maps, schedules, or news for planning. HUMINT means Human Intelligence — gathering information from direct sources: staff, coordinators, local observers. We use both to prepare and adapt protection strategies in real time. What is covert protection?Covert protection means protecting a client without being visibly identified as security. The agent blends in — dressed as a guest, assistant, or neutral party — while remaining fully operational. It’s used when visibility would draw too much attention or risk.Do agents really wear sunglasses and earpieces like in movies?Only when the context requires it. While sunglasses, earpieces, and suits are iconic, most of executive protection happens low-profile. Real agents rely on observation, planning, and movement — not clichés from Hollywood. We avoid theatrics in favor of results. What type of people do you recruit? We recruit disciplined, emotionally balanced, and physically fit individuals. Many come from pro sports, law enforcement, private academies, or international programs. Mental clarity, presence, and reliability are key traits. What are the most important skills for VIP protection in Nigeria?Soft skills: conflict management, public discretion, quick thinking, emotional control. Hard skills: evasive driving, surveillance detection, emergency response, route planning. In Nigeria, use of force is limited — strategy wins over strength.Which cities do you serve in Nigeria?Do you offer executive protection training?Yes. We offer 2 training sessions per year: one in April (Spring) and one in October (Fall). Our academy teaches executive protection fundamentals, VIP logistics, tactical movement, soft skills, and real-life simulations. Can you train our in-house protection team?Yes. We offer private training programs for corporations, high-net-worth families, and artists who want to build an internal security team. The curriculum is adapted to your needs, locations, and public exposure.
